Strain Modified Constitutive Equation and Processing Maps of High Quality 20MnCr5(SH) Gear Steel

In order to develop the high-temperature forging process of high-quality 20MnCr5(SH) gear steel, according physical characteristics hot deformation 20MnCr5(SH), single pass pressing test was carried out in temperature range 930–123 °C and strain rate 0.002–2 s?1 by using a Gleeble-1500D thermal simulator. The stress-strain curve analyzed confirmed microstructure analysis. dynamic recrystallization occurred, constitutive equation high flow stress established. Considering that traditional Arrhenius does not consider effect on equation, modified is proposed. results show correlation 0.9895 average relative error 8.048%, which verifies prediction ability equation. According material theory instability criterion, processing maps are obtained. It therefore considered most suitable for thermoplastic at 0.05–1 1030–1100 °C.
